Super Seven #8 Oliver Miles

engineering, insights, quantum, software, team, work

In the seventh of our Super Seven Series we profile our Business Analyst Intern, Oliver Miles.  Oliver is an Economics & Management student at the the University of Bristol who joined us at the start of July, working with our Commercial Team to support our Series A investment process. He’s made a massive contribution already and in such a short amount of time – a difficult task especially when we’re all still working remotely. We’re delighted he’s staying with us a little longer to help with our fundraising efforts.

1.  Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Hi, I’m Oliver. I’m from London, and I’m going into my final year at the University of Bristol studying Economics and Management.

2.  Why did you choose to study Economics & Management at Bristol?

I was drawn to Economics as I think it provides a great way of understanding the decisions and reactions that we make as households and in businesses. I thought management would be a fun add-on to get a more practical insight into business!

3.  What does your internship at KETS involve?

My role is pretty much that of a business consultant. I’ve conducted research to benchmark KETS against the competitive field, carried out competitor analysis, and interviewed the KETS team. Every day brings something a bit different and I’ve had a great time!

4. What inspires you?

I’ve been incredibly inspired by the academic expertise, innovative mindset and excitement in overcoming challenges of the KETS team.

5. What advice would you to give to someone wanting to take part in the internship scheme?

I couldn’t exactly call myself a Physics pro before this… but now I can confidently say the idea of quantum physics doesn’t intimidate me! So don’t be afraid to get outside your comfort zone.

6. What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to play football, I’m teaching myself the guitar, and in social distancing-free times I hang out with friends.

7. What’s the best thing about Bristol?

The great outdoors! In Bristol, it doesn’t get better than looking out over Clifton Bridge.
