KETS has joined 3 other startups as a finalist for the title of UK’s Most Innovative Small Cyber Security Company after winning the semi final of the DCMS Cyber Innovation Competition.

KETS will be joining some of the brightest stars in the UK cyber innovation industry after taking part in the “Pitchfest” event to reach the shortlist for a national competition to find the UK’s Most Innovative Small Cyber Security Company of the Year. The event, organised by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and sponsored by SNCLavalin Atkins, and celebrating its fourth year, was hosted by EY saw 25 small cyber security businesses present their new technologies in a series of two-minute timed pitches. From these pitches, 13 winners were selected to win a stand in the Cyber Innovation Zone at Infosecurity Europe 2018, the region’s no.1 information security event, taking place at Olympia, London in June.

As part of the winning package, all 13 companies win a stand at this year’s Infosecurity Europe in the show’s Cyber Innovation Zone, two 15 x minute speaking opportunities in the show’s Cyber Innovation Showcase theatre and marketing and PR support. From the 13, the top four companies, including KETS,  were chosen to go through to the final to compete for the title of the UK’s Most Innovative Small Cyber Security Company 2018. Each company will pitch their technology/service to the Keynote Stage audience and an expert judging panel at Infosecurity Europe on Wednesday 6 June, 14:00-16:00, in Olympia’s Conference Centre.

Cate Pye, Executive Director at Ernst & Young, and competition judge, said; “Cyber is now a C-Suite issue. There are a large number of disruptors coming over the next year and the future of cyber is innovation. What we have seen in the winners is the ability of UK companies to spot the next challenge and start addressing them today”.

Dave Butler, Client Director at SNC-Lavalin Atkins business, added: “It is wonderful to see such great innovation in the cyber world and Atkins is pleased to sponsor the event. I am continually impressed with the breadth and depth of innovation that we see each year.”

Jake Kennard, KETS Head of Technical Sales (pictured below) commented, “the opportunity to have a presence at Infosec Europe is massive for an early stage SME like KETS and will allow us to reach a vast array of potential clients. Of course, we’re also delighted to be through to the final four and to be in contention for the title of UK’s Most Innovative Small Cyber Security Company.”

KETS has been supported by The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport since 2017 through the Cybersecurity Academic Startups Programme. Since the end of the pilot programme, the company has continued to work with the DCMS team, recently joining them as one of a number of supported SMEs in the innovation zone at CYBERUK.
